Geez!! People argued that Grand Theft Auto was bad because the players are supposed to commit crimes and engage in all sorts of illegal / criminal activity…and now there’s really a game where players RAPE other characters? Not just other characters - it’s specifically women, right? Not that allowing players to rape men would make this okay in my book, but I do think it’s sending a very specific message if you’re only able to sexually assault women in the game. The game should have never been for sale to the public in the first place. The first thing that popped in my mind was what kind of physco are they allowing to create these games, and how could they actually put something like this on the market? The product has been pulled off shelves in Japan but this still doesn’t stop the game from being played or cirrculated. Who thinks of these games? Where do the ideas come from? These are good questions to wonder.
Or if these are the type of games young children grow up on we could have an era of children who mistreat women. The players of these games might think because they do these hurtful things to women in the game that it’s ok to do them in real life. For women it makes us think where our safety and well being could end up in the future! If something so innocent as a video game degrades women in such a massive way just think how people might start acting. What message is this sending to the players? Young children, and even older audiences could take this game the worng way. The creators have allowed users to touch, goupe, abuse, stalk, and even rape women in this video game. I thought it was a joke but it actually is a real game! Rapelay is the name of the game I’m talking about but this isn’t the only game on the market like this.
As I was watching the news one day I heard about a new video game in Japan that allowed the player to rape women.
